Keep your eyes peeled (hopefully in the next couple weeks) for the new Grow13 app on the iTunes App Store.

This was designed to assist in setting up and maintaining a medical marijuana garden. It includes a how-to guide to get up and running as well as many tools to help track your progress and overcome any obstacles along the way.

Herb Converter 1.0.1 Available NOW!

The update to Herb Converter 1.0.1 is now available on the app store so make sure you either run the updates right on your iPhone/iPod Touch or if you haven't done so already, get out there and get it!

The new version takes care of some general bugs that needed to be fixed and some general interface smoothness between the different screens.

Thanks to everyone who's downloaded and enjoyed Herb Converter. We've got more on the way.

Another Prime Example of App Store Favoritism

About three weeks ago our developer team submitted an App to Apple for the iPhone that provided users an easy way to quickly convert between frequently used measurements when one is weighing their herbs (marijuana).

This was our rejection letter:

Thank you for submitting Herb Converter 1.0.0 to the App Store. We've reviewed Herb Converter 1.0.0 and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store because it contains objectionable content and is in violation of Section 3.3.12 from the iPhone SDK Agreement which states:

"Applications must not contain any obscene, pornographic, offensive or defamatory content or materials of any kind (text, graphics, images, photographs, etc.), or other content or materials that in Apple's reasonable judgement may be found objectionable by iPhone or iPod touch users."

Please refer to the attached images as examples.

The image at question was a simple, animated cannabis sativa leaf.

Okay, okay. We see how this could raise an eyebrow on some levels, at least until some sort of national legalization occurred, or the app store had parental controls. So we changed the icon to some text, "Herb Converter" and have been waiting approval for the last two weeks or so.

Well, then this story came out today. Turns out a pro legalization marijuana App has been approved to the App Store, and wait, what is their icon? A real life leaf.

While it's great to see a Pro-Legalization app finally come to the store, we just ask how much longer is the evident inconsistency and favoritism going to last Apple? When will you show some love to the developers that have helped you make the iPhone what it is today and gave you a billion purchases over the last year and a half?
